Zoe.Misplaced is an Australian independent film about three young women in Sydney whose love lives intersect.

The film was filmed on location in Sydney Australia on a budget of only $8,000 AUD and has a running time of approximately 113 minutes.

The film is the result of first-time-director and writer Mekelle Mills’ script which she wrote to express her dissatisfaction with the australian film industry's limited attention to the gay and lesbian community. Especially the use of outdated stereotypes. Instead Mills’ style vies for what the film’s pozible page describes as “a lens of normality” essentially leaving behind the usual tropes that homosexual characters often are used for in mainstream cinema. This makes Mills an auteur in her field, controlling and authoring all of the content within the film.

Mills has stated in her videos on crowd funding websites that she made the film because she believes that there aren’t enough films that are accepting or aimed at the LBGTQ community.

Zoe.Misplaced has screened at the Sydney Mardi Gras film festival and the Melbourne Queer film festival 2014. Zoe.Misplaced also has three upcoming screenings including the Ankara International film Festival in Turkey.
